Reflecting on my freelancing journey I have been very fortunate to work on some incredible projects. Initially I took on freelancing projects as a side gig to develop my experience. After a year or so I decided to quit my day job and freelance full time and let me tell you, it has been a rollercoaster. I was very lucky to get some great clients straight out of the gate where I worked with ChamberUK on health policy and Upvote on profiling the potential presidential candidates ahead of the 2024 US election.
From there I worked with several other clients on longer projects, notably relating to the war in Ukraine (Hence my keen interest in those developments). Whilst there have been some quiet periods, such as around Christmas, my search for new projects and connections always continues. Marketing as a freelancer is almost a full time job in of itself, particularly when you have narrow margins and cannot devote much to a marketing budget. The main avenues for contacting potential clients that I have found are through LinkedIn, emails and the Upwork website. On occasion there are connections made outside of those as well.
The clients are one of the best parts of freelancing. Being able to support them in reaching their goals on a project feels very rewarding and I have had the privilege to work with some fantastic people. As you can see from my testimonials and portfolio pages here on my website my clients have been very pleased with my work for them and I have worked on a variety of projects. I am always open to discussing new projects so if you have need of any research services don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to many more fantastic projects in the future!
